ISO 22301

Brings together international best practice to help organisations respond to, and recover from, disruptions effectively. This means reduced costs and less impact on business performance, should something go wrong. What’s more, companies with multiple sites or divisions can rely on the same consistent approach throughout the entire organization.

Other benefits include:
• The ability to reassure clients, suppliers, regulators and other stakeholders that the organisation has sound systems and processes in place for business continuity
• Improved business performance and organisational resilience
• A better understanding of the business through analysis of critical issues and areas of vulnerability

ISO 26000

It provides guidance to those who recognise that respect for society and environment is a critical success factor. As well as being the “right thing” to do, application of ISO 26000 is increasingly viewed as a way of assessing an organisation’s commitment to sustainability and its overall performance.

ISO 27001

Is an Information security management standard that structures how businesses should manage risk associated with information security threats, including policies, procedures and staff training.

ISO 37000

It gives guidance on the governance of organisations. It provides principles and key aspects of practices to guide governing bodies and governing groups on how to meet their responsibilities so that the organisations they govern can fulfil their purpose. It is also intended for stakeholders involved in, or impacted by, the organisation and its governance. It is applicable to all organisations regardless of type, size, location, structure or purpose.

ISO 39001

Road traffic safety (RTS) management systems – Requirements with guidance for use. To ensure that the organisation’s RTS related matters are handled in a structured way to support a corporate culture of quality, safety and continual improvement.

Road Traffic Management System (RTMS)

RTMS is an industry–led, government-supported, voluntary, self-regulation scheme that encourages consignees, consignors & road transport operators to implement a management system (a set of standards) that demonstrates compliance with the Road Traffic Regulations and contributes to preserving road infrastructure, improving road safety & increasing productivity.

The RTMS National Standard (SANS 1395-1) has been published by the South Africa Bureau of Standards (SABS) and compliance is assessed by SANAS accredited 3rd party auditors.

In summary, RTMS therefore is a system that voluntarily regulates the heavy vehicle industry and has achieved significant results in:

  • Reduction and minimisation of overloading
  • Preventing road damage and preserving our infrastructure
  • Enhancing the safety of heavy vehicles on our national roads
  • Taking care of truck drivers’ health (Driver Wellness Initiatives)
  • Reduction of traffic violations (e.g. reducing speeding incidents)
  • Improving efficiency in various industry supply chains
  • Actively promoting skills development within the transport sector

Safety & Quality Assessment System (SQAS)

SQAS is a system to evaluate the Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ), Security and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) performance of Logistic Service Providers. SQAS could lead to a certificate that will avoid multiple audits of different chemical clients.

SQAS expands the coverage of Responsible Care throughout the product supply chain, focusing on continual improvement of SHEQ, Security and CSR within the LSP industry.

Transport Asset Protection Association (TAPA)

The standards provide a trusted framework to manage known risks, reduce loss exposure, protect assets, improve people security, and save the heavy financial and reputational costs which can result from a cargo theft incident.

By adopting the TAPA standards, companies are able to work to one common set of security requirements, that is easier to standardise throughout all the branches of a company.

Designed ‘by the industry, for the industry,’ the Association’s Standards are respected by Manufacturers, Shippers, Logistics Service Providers, and Insurers as some of the best minimum-security requirements to safeguard high value, theft targeted goods stored in facilities and during the transportation process.

The association offers the following 3 Supply Chain Security Standards:

  • FSR – Facility Security Requirements
  • TSR – Trucking Security Requirements
  • PSR – Parking Security Requirements
